Gurugram, India – June 2026: Riaana Future Textiles (RFT), a material innovation and textile solutions company, is advancing its vision to develop next generation sustainable textile fibres and biomaterials from agricultural biomass.
As global demand grows for low-carbon and sustainable alternatives to conventional fibres and fossil- based materials, RFT is developing scalable solutions that transform agricultural residues into high- value textile and industrial products.
Building on its expertise in textile manufacturing and product innovation, RFT is expanding into sustainable biomaterials through advanced technologies and strategic international partnerships. The company aims to create commercially viable alternatives that support the transition towards a circular and resource efficient economy.
A key milestone in this journey is RFT’s strategic collaboration with Finland-based CH Bioforce Oy.
The partnership combines CH Bioforce’s advanced biomass fractionation technology with RFT’s expertise in feedstock sourcing, textile applications, project development, and market access. Successful trials have demonstrated the potential to convert agricultural biomass, including rice straw, into high-value cellulose-based materials suitable for textile and industrial applications. The collaboration seeks to create new value chains for agricultural residues while reducing dependence on conventional raw materials.
RFT is currently advancing plans for a commercial-scale integrated biorefinery in India utilizing approximately 100,000 tonnes of agricultural biomass annually. The proposed facility is expected to produce sustainable textile-grade materials and other bio-based intermediates while maximizing resource efficiency through an integrated circular production model.
Siddharth Vashisth, Director, Riaana Future Textiles, said:
“The future of textiles lies in sustainable materials and circular manufacturing. Our objective is to transform agricultural biomass into high-value materials that can serve the needs of the global textile industry while creating meaningful environmental impact.”
Avnish Agarwal, Director, Riaana Future Textiles, added:
“The textile industry is actively seeking sustainable alternatives without compromising on performance or scalability. Through innovation and strategic partnerships, we are building solutions that can be adopted at commercial scale.”
RFT’s long-term vision is to build a globally competitive sustainable materials platform that converts renewable biomass into next-generation textile fibres and biomaterials, contributing to a more circular, low-carbon, and resource-efficient future.
